Orientation Program to welcome new students
Jagannath University recently organized an Orientation Program to welcome new students for the academic session 2024-25. The aim of the program was to familiarize the students with the environment, culture and academic system of the University, so that they can feel a sense of belongingness and connection with the University. The program began with the inaugural address of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Prasad Rao. He emphasized the importance of holistic education and inspired the students to explore their full potential in various academics and co-curricular activities. After that respected Registrar Prof. Poonam Malik highlighted the university's commitment towards nurturing talent, innovation and leadership. Thereafter, the new students were introduced to the University's facilities, faculty and key academic programmes. Information was also provided regarding the course structure, examination system and support systems available for students by the Deans/Heads of various departments and faculty members. Apart from this, Prof. Varun Arora, Prof. Indu Sharma and Prof. Niranjan Rathee and others shared information about student welfare, library, anti-ragging, MOOCs Courses, NSS, Examinations and sports and cultural activities with the students.
The event also featured interactive sessions by senior students who shared their experiences and gave tips on how to transit smoothly into university life. The event concluded with a cultural events that showcased the talent and diversity of the students for inspiring and motivating the new students.
