Section 21 of the University Act provides the following authorities of the University:

1. The Governing Body
2. The Board of Management
3. The Academic Council

• Constitution of the Governing Body

  The Governing Body of the University shall consist of the following members, namely: -

  • The Chancellor
  • The Vice Chancellor
  • The Secretary to Government of Haryana, Higher Education Department, or in his absence, Director General Higher Education, Haryana;
  • Five persons nominated by the sponsoring body out of whom two shall be eminent educationists;
  • One expert of management or technology from outside the University, nominated by the Chancellor;
  • One expert of finance, nominated by the Chancellor; and
  • The Registrar as Member Secretary

• Constitution of the Board of Management

  The Board of Management shall consist of the following members, namely: -

  • The Vice Chancellor;
  • The Secretary to the Government of Haryana, Higher Education Department or in his absence, Director General Higher Education;
  • Two members of the Governing Body, nominated by the sponsoring body;
  • Three persons, who are not the members of the Governing Body, nominated by the sponsoring body;
  • Three persons from amongst the teachers, nominated by the sponsoring body;
  • Two teachers, nominated by the Vice Chancellor; and
  • The Registrar as Member Secretary.

• Constitution of the Academic Council

  The Academic Council shall consist of the following, namely: -

  • The Vice Chancellor;
  • The Deans of Faculties;
  • The Head of the Departments/Director of the Institutes;
  • Three representatives from amongst the Scientists/Educationists/Technologists/Industrialists nominated by the Chancellor;
  • Five Professors / Associate Professors of the University Teaching departments nominated by the Chancellor;
  • Three teachers of the University Teaching Departments/Institutes nominated by the Vice Chancellor; and
  • The Registrar as a Member Secretary.
