Jagan Nath University, Bahadurgarh, Haryana organized Students’ Induction Program for students admitted during the session 2019-20 on 23.09.2019. The inaugural function began with prayers to the Goddest Saraswati and lighting of the lamp. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. H. L. Verma, welcomed the newly admitted students to the University and embarked on the vision and mission of the university, the facilities available, rules and regulations, and induction program activities. He emphasized that the students should be aware of the academic system and the university for excellent classroom studies, laboratory practicals and outreach activities for sound training and capacity building. He congratulated the students for taking admission in higher education programs, being part of elite class of top 24% as per the GER data at national level. Prof. R. K. Behl, Dean, Faculty of Sciences also motivated the students to make best use of the time for acquiring know how and do how during their study program to be successful in life. The various HoDs presented information about their respective departments regarding courses offered and specific details of syllabi for the Departments of Agriculture, Management, Law, Engineering, Education, Basic Sciences, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and JMC. The Controller of Examinations informed students about the examinations rules regarding Mid-Term, End-Term and Internal Assessment along with grading system and migration rules. The Coordinator, Training Placement and NSDC programs, presented details of various skill development programs being run by the university in partnership with NSDC and encouraged students to join these programs also to enhance their skills sets, hence employability after competing degrees.

In the first sequel, students were apprised about the importance of their respective degree program along with course scheme, course syllabi covering core courses, ability enhancement courses, skill development courses, and elective courses. The students were also made aware of the expected outcomes of their study programs and job roles they can perform in public and private sectors. They were also told about the opportunities for higher education in India and abroad.

The University has adopted the UGC Deeksharambh – Student Induction Program, in right earnest and spirit. Accordingly, the University has made special arrangements to conduct various induction program activities during the course of studies giving slots in time table for physical, cultural, arts, mentoring, MOOCs, foreign language, NSS, community services, preparations for competitive examinations, etc activities. All these activities will be conducted on regular basis throughout the academic session for the holistic personality development of the students.

The inaugural session of student induction program ended with vote of thanks to the chair giving details of program to be followed in coming weeks during the academic session.
