Jagan Nath University organized awareness program under the banner of NSS for farmers in villages Chhudani and Kharman, District Jhajjar, on ‘Prevention of Agriculture Residue Burning’ on November 6, 2019. The students and faculty from the Departments of Physiotherapy and Agriculture participated in the program and administered oath to farmers not to burn agriculture residue and spread this message in the community. The students depicted slogan plates demonstrating the environmental benefits of not burning crop residues and as well as the potential damages to the environment including air and soil by burning crop residue in fields. They also educated to the farmers about the alternative methods of cleaning the agriculture fields which do not include crop burning.
Dr. R. K. Mudgil, Coordinator, NSS Unit and Faculty members from Agriculture Department, Dr. Ahtsham and Mr. Abhilash along with the students joined the awareness campaign.
